Phase I is complete...

The waterproofing is complete. I included one picture of the very fine dust that can be found all over my house (upstairs & downstairs). Nice. One good thing ~ I can finally sleep a little more sound at night during a heavy rain. But, that is only phase I of the reconstruction of my basement...phase II will be installing our new (new) carpet (again). The carpet is to be installed on Aug. 4th and we can not wait. All of us are so ready to put our house back together (again). I am sure sometime down the road I will look back on this little episode in our lives and laugh, but probably not too soon. HA~HA~HA!!!
Shelby goes to the vet tomorrow. She has worms. YUK! From what I understand it is her hunger for rabbit poop that is probably to blame. This is wonderful timing as I am going back to work after a week long vacation tomorrow and I have to take the dog to the vet and meet Tony at his follow up appointment at 8 am. I guess my paper piled desk will have to wait a few more hours. UGH!! Oh well, these pictures are with the girls trying on their new sunglasses on Shelby. Shelby is laying on one of the two mattresses currently taking up residence in our living room.
Taylor and Kaylee are becoming quite the PS2 players. Tony hooked it up in the living room while we are under construction. They love to play "Need for Speed" and "Frogger". It is amazing to me to see how they are both growing up so fast. Taylor helped me grocery shopping today (like she has in the past), but this time she was paying attention to prices and doing comparison shopping. I taught her well. Kaylee continues to have the funniest sayings. It is never a dull moment with her around!
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Before you know it the summer will be over and we will be putting on sweatshirts and jeans. The kids are counting down the days until the end of their summer. They start back to school (2nd & 6th grade) on August 14th. I am counting down the days for another reason... :)

Basement Waterproofing - makes me sick!!!

This makes me feel really sick when I look at it. It really gives you a bad feeling when a bunch of strangers, whom you are paying a lot of money, come into your house with jack hammers and buckets. I have attached some pictures to show you the images that are making my lunch want to make another appearance. I will try to update you with pictures as they progress thru the process of waterproofing. I keep telling myself this will enable me to sleep comfortably the next time a big rain hits the area. (NOT!)
FYI...I am still working on setting my pictures up on a slide show...This will have to do for now.

Jen & Shelby getting comfy...

How about this for keeping up my posts...Seriously, I thought everyone would get a kick out of Shelby and I getting comfy on the couch. I was exhausted from work and Shelby must have had a rough day too. Anyway...enjoy!

What the heck have I been doing??!!

I'M BACK...

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Anyone who has talked with me in the last couple of months knows I have just a few things going on around this houshold...HAHAHA!!! Tony is continuing his physical therapy and seeing a occupational doctor for his injury. This week marks 6 months since the accident. I feel really bad for the guy, he is pain pretty much the entire day and night. The intensity of the pain varies with his daily activities. We go to the pain clinic on Monday (1st day of our vacation). What a way to start our vacation out, huh? We are not going anywhere simply because he goes to physical therapy everyday. With gas prices, I think alot of people will have the same idea.

We are also in midst of re-renovating our basement. Yes...it flooded again, June 3rd. YEA! That was total sarcasm, FYI. We are spending another chunk of change (after the generator expense) and actually waterproofing our basement. This is where guys will come into your home and basically jackhammer out 8-10 inches away from all exterior walls to install drainage pipes leading to our sump. Oh yeah...and adding another sump hole in Taylor's new room (closet area). I hope you enjoy my picture of my stained 7 month old carpet that had to be ripped out and replaced after having been installed in fall of 2007 after the 1st flood we had. It made me sick!!

On a brighter note...softball is DONE for the season!!! Kaylee made it to the second game of tournaments, single elimination, before losing. She got a metal, so she was sitisfied. :) Taylor, however, went all of the way thru tournaments being undefeated and came out winning the championship!! What a thrill!! If you remember she won the chamionship in 2006 (undefeated the whole season and tournaments), 2007 she came in runner-up to the team she beat out for the championship this year. Pretty cool!

To all I have talked to about the issues surrounding my life right now, you will know that I like to ask the question, "what next". Well...this morning I ran into the bathroom door with my toe, busted the nail down the center and peeled it back, just enough for it to stay attached along the side and also managed to cut the top of my toe. Yeah...it bled and bled. I now "hobble" around work. which is great for my back that has been hurting since the flood. Dare I ask the question again??? I think not...

On another brighter note...I AM GOING TO BE AN AUNT AGAIN!!!! YEA!!!! I can't begin to tell you how excited I am for Mike and Mara. I put the pictures of what they sent me to tell me they were pregnant on my filing cabinet at work. I can't wait to add more!! I will be spoiling their kid just as I do with Jackson.
I will try to make my entries a little shorter next time. I hope to keep this up a little better...
